Who We Are:
Located in Macon, Georgia
Positive Minds Bookclub, is an exciting, literary bookclub founded in April 1998, which engages in the formation and development of friendships and discussions through a literary outlet. Our main objectives include:
- Literary discussion of African-American authors
- Support of African-American owned business
- Support of community
- Developing and maintaing new friendships and business/professional networking.
Over the past 3 decades, there have been numbers of African American authors that have taken over the literary world. We are sure that some of these authors have written from actual life experiences, be it their own or someone that they knew, directly or indirectly. Every African American can identify with some character or situation written about in most books written by another African American.
Positive Minds provides the atmosphere in which we can share our joy, sorrows, excitement, and frustrations. Through literary discussions, we believe that we will discover that we all share some common opinions and interests although each individual's lifestyle may differ.
We feel that through reading and discussion groups such as
Positive Minds, it can be therapeutic and will serve as an excellent networking tool and aid us in gaining a better understanding and appreciation of our differences. How To Join:
